Obituary

Aida Sargese, 99, of Clifton passed away peacefully at home on July 13, 2023, just shy of her 100th birthday. She lived in Clifton all her life. She was a devoted member of S.T.A.R.T. (Save the Animals Rescue Team). Aida also worked as a volunteer for the Friends of Animals spay/neuter program for decades. She ran feline boarding kennel out of her home and fed feral cat colonies in the area. During World War 2 she served the war effort by welding bomb casings to be armed at Picatinny Arsenal. Her last professional job was working as an office clerk for Deluxe Check Printers.

Beloved wife of Patrick "Sonny" Sargese. Devoted mother of Lisa Sargese of Clifton, New Jersey and Lance Micklus of Essex Junction, Vermont. Dear sister of Raymond "Rudy" Renta, Clarence "Kayo" Renta, Gilda Gustufson, Frank Renta, Dante Renta, Mae Henderson, Jean Townsend, Ernie Renta, Freddy Renta, and Elinor Salvetti, who all predeceased her. Blessed grandmother to Anthony Micklus and his wife Kim of Milton, Vermont. Faithful great-grandmother of Christopher Micklus, Joshua Micklus, and Caleb Micklus of Vermont.

The family will receive relatives and friends at her wake at Caggiano's Memorial Home, 62 Grove St, Montclair, NJ on Friday, July 28 at 7:00pm.

Aida's favorite flowers were Seven Sisters roses, daisies, tulips, and edelweiss.
