Albert R. Coviel of East Orange, NJ, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 9, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Marjorie Coviel, and loving father to children Calvin, Vera (Maurice), twins Darlene and Dorene (Brett), and Jacquelynn. He is also survived by four grandchildren; Jocelyn, Brittany, Chad and Jade; two great-grandchildren, Desmond and Dakota; siblings Nora Cobb and Calvin (aka Pete) Coviel, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Albert graduated from North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, NC with a BS in Mechanical Engineering, class of 1960. Al was extremely proud of his work as a Mechanical Engineer at Picatinny Arsenal in Dover, NJ, where he retired at the age of 55 after over 25 years of dedicated service. He spent his years in retirement enjoying good times with his family and friends and supporting his children and grandchildren in their various endeavors - which he would rave about to others.
A private viewing was held on Friday, January 22, 2021 at the Caggiano Memorial-Home in Montclair, NJ. Memorial services will be held on February 6, 2021 over Zoom. Interment at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ is forthcoming.
