Anna Nydia Campos, 81, of Montclair, NJ, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 12th, 2023, in her home with her Husband, Pedro Campos, and longtime caregiver, Norma, by her side. She was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico on December 12th, 1941, the daughter of the late Jose Manuel Gonzalez, and her late mother Anais Machado Brignoni.
Anna was larger than life, and lit up any room she was in. She was an avid gardener, reader, and world traveler with her husband. They visited over 25 countries during their 59 years of marriage. She loved cooking for her beloved family and friends, and was the matriarch and supermom of the Campos family. She was a life-long resident of Montclair, NJ, from 1973 to her passing.
She was preceded in death by her step-father, Baltazar Brignoni, and brothers Carlos, Joey and Rucco.
She will be lovingly remembered by her brother, Jose Gonzalez of Puerto Rico; her three sons, Peter Campos and his long time partner Kim Nash of Warren, NJ, Gabriel and his wife Iara Campos of Verona, NJ, and Alex Campos and his wife Chelsea Grainger of Verona, NJ; grandchildren, Gabriela & Cristian (and their mother Maria Milagros Menendez), Rio & Luna, and Gabriel; niece, Lydia (and grand-niece & -nephew Devin & Julian); nephews, Joe Gonzalez, Lewis Gonzalez, Sebastian Campos, and Pedro Campos.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, July 15th, 2023 at Saint Cassian's Church (187 Bellevue Ave, Upper Montclair, NJ 07043). Visiting Friday July 14th from 4pm-8pm.
