Betty Elaine Yearwood Leake. 1930 - 2024

Betty E Yearwood Leake passed away peacefully on the 18th of October 2024. She was a devout Christian and the family takes comfort in knowing that she is in heaven celebrating with family and dear friends.

Betty was educated in the Montclair school system. After high school she attended business college. She was a housewife and devoted mother in the early years taking care of the love of her life, her young son and only child Leon. Her father Vernon Yearwood had one of the first minority owned businesses in Montclair. Yearwood Taxi & Limousine Services. After her son started school, she went to work in the family business managing operations.

She was crazy about her family especially her nieces, and nephews. She enjoyed many family gatherings for birthdays, holidays, and or just being with each other over the years which included many friends and extended family.

She is proceeded in death by her loving parents Vernon and Annie Yearwood, her brothers: Vernon, Irving, and Frank Yearwood. Sisters: Margaret Walton and Agnes Green. Sister in laws: Olga and Bertha Yearwood and Amy Harrison.

Her nephews: Alan Greene, Michael Dyson, and Robert Green Scott.

She leaves to cherish precious memories, her son Leon Harrison. Sister in law Iris Dyson, Grandchildren: Monica Rodriquez (Jonathan), Leon (Daisy), Sean (Amanda), Amber (Naitza), and Ryan Harrison. Great grandchildren : Elisha, Leah, Alana, and Lennox Harrison.

Nieces: Lynne Scott (Oz), Brenda Stone, Leslie Williams, Kim Jenkins (Thaddeus), Donna Hamblin, Ina Greene, Shirley and Bernice Yearwood.

Nephews: Clifford Walton (Marsha), Steven Greene, Dr.Duane Dyson MD (Dee) Jeffery Harrison, and Burnett McKnight (Arlene).

And a host of family, cousins, and friends.
