Carolyn Ann "Carole" (Fabrizio) DeLia
Carolyn Ann DeLia, known to many as Carole, passed away unexpectedly on May 23, 2024, at the age of
79 in Verona, NJ. Carole was born on January 25, 1945, in Newark, NJ, to the late Mary (DeFronzo)
Fabrizio and P. Anthony Fabrizio. She was preceded in death by her caring mother and father, devoted
husband Louis Gerald DeLia, and cherished son Jeffrey Louis DeLia.
Carole leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. She is survived by her loving brother, Edmund
Fabrizio (Ed), and his wife Rosanne Fabrizio, who was like a sister to her. Carole's world revolved around
her devoted son Christopher DeLia and his wife Kimberly (Sancho) DeLia. She was a proud grandmother
to Audrey DeLia and Mason DeLia, her pride and joy. Carole is also survived by her loving nieces,
nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
Carole's educational journey included attending Barringer High School class of 1962, and Newark State
College (Kean University) graduating in 1966. She had a remarkable career in shaping young minds and
teaching children, with the majority of her years spent at the Children's House, a Montessori school in
Verona, NJ.
In her free time, Carole enjoyed cooking, gardening, and spending quality time with her family and her
very many friends. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Parish where she found solace and
community.
Services to honor and celebrate Carole's life will be held at Caggiano Funeral Home, 66 Grove Street,
Montclair, NJ, on June 2, 2024, from 4pm-8pm for viewing/visitation. The funeral will take place on June
3, 2024, at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Lake, 22 Lakeside Ave, Verona, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in Carole's memory.
The compassionate team at Caggiano Funeral Home in Montclair, NJ, is assisting with the funeral
arrangements.
Carole will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her. To know her love,
humor, and selflessness, was to truly love her. May she rest in peace.
