Caterina "Lena" Carey (nee Grippaldi), 88 of Montclair, passed away on Tuesday
November 5th, 2024. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday
November 9th at 9:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church in Montclair followed by an
Interment at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Upper Montclair. Visiting hours will be
Friday, November 8th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Caggiano Memorial, 62 Grove St.,
Montclair

Lena was born and raised in Agira, Sicily (EN) before immigrating to Montclair where
she met and married her husband, Thomas.  She was a cafeteria aide at Hillside
Elementary School in Montclair for many years while raising a large family

She is survived by her children Thomas and his wife Jeanette, John and his wife
Debbie, Catherine, Michael and his wife Dana, Paul and his wife Nelly, by her brother
Frank Grippaldi, and her sisters Anna Morgano and Millie Bouffier, and by her
grandchildren Megan, Julianna, Joseph, Maria, Samantha, Christina and John Carey,
Carly and Courtney Murphy.

She was predeceased by her husband Thomas in 2003.
