Charles Arthur Pratt     October 16, 1946 – September 21, 2026

Charles Arthur Pratt, 79, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2026 in Katy, Texas. He was born on October 16, 1946, in East Orange, New Jersey, to Alfred Pratt and Lorraine (Schumacher) Pratt.

Charles attended Jersey City State College, where he began a career in education and technology. He later earned his Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University. He devoted many years to Jersey City State College, where he worked as a Manager in the computer lab. He was proud of his work and the many people he had the opportunity to help throughout his career.

On November 9, 1968, Charles married the love of his life, Margaret Alice (Cunningham) Pratt. Together they built a family and shared many years of marriage and memories. Charles was the loving father of Charles Anthony Pratt and Lorraine Margaret Pratt.

Charles had a joyful spirit and a love for life. He especially enjoyed singing and going on cruises, creating memories that his family will treasure for years to come.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Lorraine Pratt, and his beloved wife, Margaret Alice Pratt.

Charles is survived by his children, Charles Anthony Pratt and Lorraine Margaret Pratt, and his brother, James Pratt, along with extended family and friends who will remember him with love and affection.

In lieu of flowers, Charles requested that donations be made in his memory to St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Belleville, NJ (https://www.spbnj.org).

Viewing will be held on Thursday, October 1st at 10am at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Belleville, NJ. Funeral will be held at 11am with burial to follow.

Charles will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His memory will live on through his family, the lives he touched, the songs he loved to sing, and the many memories he leaves behind.
