Clayton C. Rice of Verona passed away peacefully on July 12, 2026. He was predeceased by his wife, Janet Rice née Intile, and his parents, Mary and Joseph Rice. He is survived by his son Jeffrey, daughter Cindy, son-in-law Scott and his grandchildren Patrick and Andrew Burns. Clay grew up down the shore in Spring Lake Heights and graduated Manasquan High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army National Guard. He attended Rider University in Lawrence Township, New Jersey before developing a career as a Director of Financial Services for several Fortune 500 companies.

Clayton was a man with strong principles who loved his family more than anything. He led by example and was quick to make sacrifices to ensure the people he loved would have everything they needed before he ever thought of himself. He loved to volunteer his time coaching his grandsons' baseball teams, and he helped to raise them into responsible young men, teaching them many important life lessons along the way.

The funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, July 17th at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of the Lake Church in Verona, entombment will be private.
