Concetta F. (Petronaci) Jafraty, loving wife, mother, and grandmother of Bloomfield, NJ was called home to the Lord on Friday, July 19, 2024 at age 88.


Connie was born and raised in Montclair before settling in Nutley in 1973. She held various jobs over the years, from Bell Atlantic to local delis, where everyone loved being greeted by her contagious smile and friendly chats. Aside from being a mother to two daughters, she was a mom to many. She loved her friends and family dearly and expressed it through her cooking and baking. No one left her house hungry, or without containers of food to last the week. She was an amazing grandmother to her two grandchildren, as well as to their friends and classmates. If there was ever a class party she sent dozens of cookies and cupcakes that were enjoyed by everyone. Gatherings at the house were not complete without her homemade pizza and pasta dishes.


Connie never missed an opportunity to dance, especially when her beloved husband asked her to "take his hand" and slow dance to their favorite Elvis song. She loved her many pets and grand-pets and looked forward to going to the animal shelter to give love and affection to the cats there on Saturdays.


Concetta was predeceased by her husband Arthur, brothers Nino and Joseph, and brother-in-law Joseph Magliaro. She is survived by her children Cheryl Locastro and Cindy Coppola and her husband Anthony, her grandchildren Adrian and Adam, her sister Sylvia Magliaro, sister-in-law Patricia Wank and many treasured nieces and nephews.


A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30am on Wednesday, July 24th, at The Church of the Immaculate Conception in Montclair, Interment to follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Visiting Tuesday from 4-8pm at Caggiano Memorial.
