Diane Marie Campbell was the daughter of the late James and Ouida Campbell born on December 16, 1960 in Montego Bay Jamaica, West Indies. The third of five siblings, oldest brother John, sister Andria, late brother David and youngest brother Steven.
Her family migrated to the United States when she was only four years old. After graduating from Montclair High School, Diane attended Felician College pursuing a career in Nursing. While studying she worked at Nordstrom's as a Sales Representative and Mountainside Hospital as a Nurse Tech. Her work at Mountainside Hospital fostered her love for children. Ultimately, Diane was forced with the decision to focus on her health and withdraw from school. The love for children motivated Diane to open "The Busy Box Nursery" in her home during the late 90's. Although she was not tech-saavy she had zeal and drive to operate a successful business. After handing out many flyers throughout the town, families began to entrust their children with Diane and word quickly spread as others recognize the affection she had for the youth. The Busy Box started with four children (three boys and one girl) and the daycare would go to flourish for many years. Even during pandemic of 2019 when everything else was shutting down, Diane availed herself to assist families. She would keep children busy with arts and crafts, develop their imagination with random car rides or visits to the doctor's office. And the social/emotional component was always met with hugs and kisses from Nan-Na.
Diane never had children of her own but she managed to provide a loving environment for the kids and their parents. It was one of her greatest delights to work with children during their formative years. Her business was an extension of her home, and thereby the kids were an extension of her family.
Diane was preceeded in death by her parents James and Ouida and her brother David Campbell. She leaves to cherish her memory older brother John (children- Marsh, Jade, Temica, Tremaine and John Jr.), older sister Andria, younger brother Steven (wife Lisa, children- Anthony, Amber, Ashley and Tiara), great-nieces Princess Eliana, London, Lanyah, Lauren, and great-nephew Kareem AKA Man Man, and a host of friends from the Busy Box Daycare.
May her soul rest in eternal peace. Until we meet again, rest well our angel. Gone, but never forgotten. We love you Di-Di!
