Donna "Granny" Lynn Mattee, 69, of Montclair, New Jersey, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on July 11, 1957, in Paterson, New Jersey. She was raised and unconditionally loved by her parents, Henrietta and the late Robert Verdicchio.

Donna was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose love for her family was the center of her life. Donna is survived by her mother, Henrietta; her siblings, Terry Bruno (Carmen), Debbie Gorman (Michael), Dorothy Vinson (Tony), Robert Verdicchio, and Joseph Verdicchio (Melissa); her two loving daughters, Sandra Reid and her husband Thomas, and Nicole Slade and her husband Bryan; her cherished grandchildren, Maria, Tom, Michael, and Eva; and her beloved great-granddaughter, Madison, as well as a host of beloved nieces and nephews. Donna was predeceased by her father, Robert Verdicchio, and her younger sister, Dawn Galvao.

Affectionately known as "Granny" by all who knew and loved her, Donna created lasting memories through her warmth, kindness, and unwavering support. Her legacy lives on through the family she loved so deeply and the countless lives she touched with her caring spirit. She will forever be remembered for bringing family together around her exceptional meals, generously sharing her wisdom, guidance, and heartfelt advice, and making everyone feel loved and welcomed. Her family will forever treasure the love, guidance, and countless memories she leaves behind. Donna will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered always. With deep faith, we find comfort in knowing that her spirit lives on, and she will forever remain in our hearts.

Please join us in honoring Donna's memory on Saturday, August 8, 2026, between 12:00 and 3:00 P.M. at Caggiano Memorial Home, 62 Grove Street, Montclair, NJ. In lieu of flowers, we respectfully request that a donation be made to St. Jude's research facility, a cause Granny donated to and strongly believed in.
