Eleanor Berman, 87, of Montclair New Jersey passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on January 20, 2022 with her family by her side.

Eleanor was born April 22, 1934 in Montclair, New Jersey. The daughter of Donato and Ella Tafaro, she was a lifelong resident of Montclair. She was predeceased by her mother and father, sister Joan Hundertmark and niece Pamela Dellraria. She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years Joseph, her two sons Scott with wife Heather and Randy with wife Lizzie, grandchildren Melissa with husband Brenton, Naomi with fiance Ross, Erik and Evan and her three great grandchildren Lilliana, Oliver and Luis and her niece Lynne Pasciuti.

Eleanor was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She worked early in her marriage at Kaveny Bros Oil Co. followed by the League of Women Voters in Montclair until their office was moved to Trenton, New Jersey. Eleanor loved the shore and would spend summers in their beach house in Point Pleasant, New Jersey. She was an avid reader of mystery novels and would spend hours with her books.

Eleanor was a beautiful and gentle person that was loved dearly by everyone she surrounded herself with. She will never be forgotten. Viewing will be held Wednesday, January 26th, 2022 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Service will be held Thursday, January 27th 2022 at 11:00am, both to be held at Caggiano Memorial Home, 62 Grove St. Montclair, NJ followed by interment at Mount Hebron Cemetery in Montclair. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her name to the Montclair Ambulance Unit at www.montclairems.org.
