Obituary

Fernando Boero, 67, of Albany, New York, passed away on September 21, 2025. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on January 26, 1958, he immigrated to America with his family in November 1964. He was the beloved son of the late Dante and Arleti (Henriques) Boero.

Fernando is survived by his devoted wife of 34 years, Susan (Ruggiero) Boero, and their five children: Michael, Steven, Julie, Matthew, and Jimmy. He was the cherished son-in-law of the late John and Marion Ruggiero, and the loving brother-in-law of Jimmy Ruggiero and his wife Debbie, John Ruggiero and his wife Kristina, and Patti Ruggiero. He also leaves behind several cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Fernando grew up in Wallington, NJ, and was a proud graduate of Don Bosco Prep in Ramsey, NJ. He then attended New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark, NJ, earning a Bachelor's degree and Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

A dedicated professional, Fernando worked as a Mechanical Engineer at ITT Avionics/L3 Harris in Clifton, NJ, for more than 30 years, and most recently at Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory in Niskayuna, NY, where he served for the past eight years.

He was a resident of Glen Ridge, NJ, for 21 years where he raised his family before relocating to Albany, NY, in 2017.

Fernando had a lifelong love of motorcycles, the New York Mets, Classic Rock, the Apollo Space Program, and grilling the perfect steak for his family. Above all, he was a devout Catholic and a faithful servant of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ with a deep devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Brown Scapular of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. No matter how busy a day would be, he always found time to pray and grow in his faith.

He will be remembered as a devoted husband and father, whose love for God and his family was the cornerstone of his life. He loved spending time with his wife and children in the quiet, simple moments – laughing, talking, and sharing meals with his family.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Montclair, NJ. Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Upper Montclair.
