Mr. Gaetano Desomma was born in Monteforte in the province of Avellino, Italy, and migrated to America in 1971. He first moved to Montclair and lastly resided In Bloomfield for the past 23 years.
Gaetano is survived by his wife Emilia, his daughter Katia, his granddaughter Marina and his great-granddaughter Sarina, his two siblings Antonio and Lena. He is predeceased by his one and only beloved son Roberto.
Gaetano was the owner of Danny D's Pizzeria in Montclair for 25 years. He was known for the best pizza and cheesesteaks in town! After retiring as a pizza man , he was a crossing guard for Verona. He was always known as a hard working man, he never stopped working.
Gaetano loved to spend his spare time in Branch Brook Park playing bocce with his friends, that is where you will find him every Monday. He also enjoyed the casinos in Atlantic city where he would go almost every weekend with his wife. His favorite sport was soccer (team Juventus)
Gaetano loved his food especially pasta and loved loved his sweets.
A lot of people will remember him for his humor , especially the kids. He used to kid around a lot and was just a very silly man… and so loving and warm hearted.
