Iona Panico, 89, of Florida, formerly of Bloomfield and Montclair, passed away on January 29th, 2023.
Iona is survived by her children, Donna Rubinger (Gerald Levy), Cheryl Panico, David Panico (Caroline), her grandchildren, Jamie and Matthew Levy, Sabrina and Evangeline Panico, and by her sister Dora Spencer, and was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Mary DiGirolamo and by her brother Walter DiGirolamo.
Iona came to the United States from Italy with her parents when she was just three years old. She spent most of her life in the Montclair and Bloomfield areas, raising her children, working and enjoying her family. She lived her last couple of years in Florida with her daughters and enjoyed her short time at a retirement home where she was well liked and made friends.
Iona was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy in life was raising her children and helping them with whatever they needed in life. She took great pride in all their accomplishments. She loved her grandchildren and was always happy to see them and spend time with them.
