Jamal L. Harriott, 36 of Newark NJ. entered eternal rest on December 30, 2020 at Clara Maass Medical Center, Belleville NJ.
Jamal was born in Mountainside Hospital on February 29, 1984 (leap year baby) to William and Charlotte Harriott, the oldest of two sons." Malley" as he was affectionately known was a product of the Montclair public school system and graduated in 2002 from Montclair High school. Whenever Jamal was present, love followed. He was the life of the party at many family gatherings with his laughter and dynamic smile.
Jamal met and married Haneefah Hickson and relocated to East Orange NJ. From this union three children were born Jamiyah, Jahilah and Jamal. Jamal nurtured and loved his children. He was known for his delicious cooking such as his ox tails and fried chicken. Jamal spent many years as a cook and his favorite place to cook was Montclair State University. Jamal was employed by Essex County Hospital Cedar Grove NJ. Jamal loved the Dallas Cowboys football team as well as nice foot wear. His favorite saying was "STOP PLAYING".
Jamal was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, William and Dorothy Harriott, Maternal grandparent, Mary Greene, Uncle, Ali Greene, Great grandparents, William and Elizabeth Greene and a host of other uncles, aunts and family members.
Jamal leaves to cherish his memories, one son Jamal Harriott, three daughters, Jamiyah, Jahilah and Mahasah. His parents, William and Charlotte Harriott. One brother, Isaiah Harriott (Maya), sister, Ebony Gaskin and Tyliah Hickson. Maurice Rosendary (his pops). The love of his life, Tamika Hawes, (Nyjeeb). Grandfather William Greene, Uncle William Greene 3rd, Agin Muhammad, Aunt Kimberly Barnes (Celester), Linda Stephenson (Michael).
