Janet Intile Rice of Verona passed away peacefully on December 20, 2025. Janet is survived by her husband Clayton, son Jeffrey, daughter Cindy, son in law Scott and her grandchildren Patrick and Andrew Burns. She is also survived by her sisters Dorothy Fiorentino and Antoinette King. She was predeceased by her parents Louis and Helen (nee Gizzi) Intile.

The funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, December 26 at 10 AM at Our Lady of the Lake Church in Verona followed by an Entombment at Immaculate Conception Cemetery.

She was very active in the OLL community, especially with the Bethany Ministry.

Jan lived in Verona most of her life and graduated from Verona High School in 1955. She met her husband, Clay, down at the Jersey shore. They married in 1962 and built a house in Verona a few years later, where they started their family. She was the core of her family and the person that held it all together; a true matriarch in every sense of the word. Jan hosted every holiday and made sure to bring everyone together. She was the moral compass for her grandchildren, guiding them through life and teaching them to do the right thing.Those who knew her best would describe her as fabulous, she had an impeccable sense of style and it rubbed off on the people she cared about most. She was the kind of person who started her Christmas shopping in January, always prepared and never waiting until the last minute. Jan had an open door policy at her home and she was always ready for guests. She had a wonderful life and we are blessed to have shared it with her.
