Beloved Husband, Father and Organist
Dr. John Murez, Jr., 76, of Montclair, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday May 21st, 2019. Visiting Saturday morning from 8am-9am at Caggiano Memorial, 62 Grove St, Montclair. Funeral service 9:30am on Saturday at St Agnes Episcopal Church, 65 Union Ave, Little Falls. Interment at Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Paterson
John played the organ in church since the age of 12. He was organist and Director of Music for Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church in Montclair, New Jersey, for 23 years. He was last organist for St. Agnes Episcopal Church in Little Falls, New Jersey. John was Director of Fine, Visual, and Performing Arts for Newark Public Schools, and later Paterson Public Schools.
John is survived by his beloved wife Dorothy (Pohlman) Murez, sons Daniel Murez and Mikey Soto (Cynthia), grandchildren Logan and Aaliyah, brother James Murez (Marian), nephew James, Jr. (Cara), grandson, Owen Davitt, and beloved Havanese, Lily.
