Joseph Benjamin Lombardi, 75, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away
unexpectedly on May 24, 2024.
Joe was born in Montclair, NJ to Joseph and Mildred Lombardi on March
21, 1949. He played football and graduated from Montclair High School in
1967. Joe worked as a builder and contractor in New Jersey before retiring
in Punta Gorda, Florida.
Joe married the love of his life, Tracey Lombardi, in 2002 and blended a
beautiful, loving family. They moved to Florida in 2019 where they enjoyed
fishing, boating and their adopted fur-babies, Hunter and Fisher.
Joe will be remembered as a faithful Christian with the biggest and most
kind and generous heart. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle,
grandfather, cousin and friend who loved hunting, fishing and outdoor life.
Joe served in the Army Reserve 50th Armored Division as a recon scout
from 1969-1977. He was also a member of the National Guard shooting
team and a highly accomplished marksman who won world championships
and met royalty.
Joe is survived by his wife, Tracey Lombardi, sister Virginia Reilly, and
brother Peter Lombardi and wife Maryann. Joe is also survived by his son
Vincent and wife Gerardina Lombardi, daughter Rebecca Lombardi
Gastaldi and husband Lou, and son Francis Viola. He is predeceased by
daughter Kimberly Viola. He has one granddaughter, Serena Grace
Lombardi and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at The New Apostolic Church, 819 Edward's Road in
Parsippany, NJ on June 1, 2024. Visitation hours will be from 2:00-3:30
followed by a service at 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made
to The New Apostolic Church.
