Former Montville, New Jersey resident Leonard J. Macaluso, 96, passed away September 18, 2021. Mr. Macaluso was born August 1,1925 to Peter and Anna Macaluso. Mr. Macaluso served in the United States Navy, during World War II as a signalman. He served on the USS TUMULT, USS GIBSON and USS ARDENT. After the Navy he met his wife Ann. They married in June of 1950. They bought their first home in Saddle Brook. Later they moved to Randolph and then to Montville. Mr. Macaluso was an electronic engineer and worked for Bell Laboratories in Whippany. He did work on several projects including Telstar and the Nike Missile. He is survived by his brother Robert Macaluso, three children, daughter Colleen Maggio and her husband Michael, and sons Kevin, and Craig and his wife Carolyn, eleven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Services will be private.
