Letitia Estelle Henson Davenport was born on October 21, 1936 to the late Otis Whitfield Henson and Cora Lee Henson in Louisa County, Virginia and moved with her family to Washington, DC., where she grew up and attended school.
At an early age Estelle, as her friends and family called her, accepted Christ as her Savior and was Baptized at Florida Avenue Baptist Church, Washington DC.

After graduating from Spingarn High School, Estelle moved to Montclair NJ in 1955. Estelle joined Bright Hope Baptist Church, Montclair, NJ where she met the love of her life Shirley William Davenport on the front steps of the church. They were married on 10/24/1959. To this union 4 children were born. Estelle had a life long career in Insurance where she later retired from CNA Insurance Company in Parsippany, NJ.

Estelle enjoyed cooking, sewing and was famous among her family and church community for her apple pie. Estelle was a longtime member of Bethel Chapter No.10 Order of the Eastern Star PHA, Montclair, NJ, where she eventually was elevated to serve as Worthy Matron.

On Thursday, November 27th, God in his infinite wisdom called Estelle home peacefully at Complete Care in West Caldwell, NJ.

Estelle was predeceased by her husband, Shirley Wm. Davenport, her parents and brothers Aurelius and Cornelius. She leaves to cherish her memory 3 sons, Ronald, Reginald (Stephanie), Rodger, and her daughter Sharon Vanessa. Additionally, she leaves behind seven grandchildren Ronald Jr. Tiffany, Alexandria, William, Aja, Courtney(Freddy), Joshua, Jacob, a host of Great-grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
