Margo "Mama" Thompson was born on March 4th, 1944, to the late Isabell Laster & Shelley Laster. She was raised in Montclair, NJ by her eldest sister Lucille & brother-in-law Steve Howell. Margo departed this life on July 12th, 2024.


Margo was a graduate of Bloomfield High School in Bloomfield NJ. She then later worked for Montclair Board of education, where she also retired in 2009.



Margo was outgoing and known for her "tell it how it is personality". She loved her lifetime movies. Walking on the boardwalk while eating her saltwater taffy. On Saturday mornings Margo would enjoy taking a trip to Willow brook mall. She would also attend her senior community program in Bloomfield, NJ amongst her many friends. Margo loved being around the family and going to family gatherings. Margo also enjoyed frequenting her favorite restaurant Red Lobster.



Margo preceded on death by her 10 siblings. Margo leaves to mourn her son Howard Laster; her two daughters Dawn Thompson and Robyn Hoggard. Her Grandchildren Asia Thompson, Stephan Thompson and Amber Hoggard. Her great grandchildren Shindon Thompson, Miyah Thompson, Jayvonni Thompson, Madden Mino, Adiyanna Thompson. A host of nieces and nephews and special friends.
