Maria "Titi" Lopez, a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt to so many nieces and nephews who loved and cherished her, peacefully passed away at the age of 90 in her home in Newark, NJ on August 30, 2026 with her daughter by her side.

Maria was born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras on January 21, 1936. The second oldest of 11 children, she emigrated to America in order to have a better life for her family. After working hard doing multiple laborious jobs, she purchased her house where she was able to raise her daughter, Evelyn and grandchild, Danny. Her love and care did not stop there as her house was always open to anyone who wished to visit, where Maria would spoil her visitors with fresh home cooked food and drinks. Her kindness and generosity fed and housed multiple generations who had the honor of entering her home. Maria loved everyone who came into her house, and deeply considered all her nieces and nephews and their spouses as her own grandchildren, whom all affectionately called her "Titi". Her life was a testament to hard work, grace, and unconditional love to those she held dear.

Maria is survived by her daughter Evelyn and son in law Jose, grandson Danny, great-grandchildren Nathaniel and Logan, sister Martha, and multiple nieces and nephews who considered her to be a grandmother as well. Her life will be celebrated and honored with a viewing on Tuesday September 1st, 2026 from 5pm-9pm at Caggiano Memorial Home (62 Grove Street, Montclair, NJ). A mass service will be held on Wednesday Septemeber 2, 2026 at Immaculate Conception Church (30 N Fullerton Ave, Montclair, NJ) at 10AM, followed by her burial at Mount Hebron Cemetery in Upper Montclair.
