Michelina Backlund, a long time resident of Montclair, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 10, 2021. She had a long and fulfilling life living to the age of 102.

Visiting Friday, January 15 from 10am-11am at Caggiano Memorial, 62 Grove St, Montclair, with a funeral service to begin at 11am at the funeral home. Interment at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Upper Montclair.



A daughter of immigrant parents Gaetano and Emanuela Napolitano, Michelina was married to Edward Backlund. A hard working manager at AT&T, her family was the center of her life. She is survived by an Uncle, Nicola Fiornascente, three nephews, Tom Brunetto, Tom Napolitano and John Klein, two nieces, Andrea Brunetto and Rosemary Klein, 8 great nephews and nieces and 4 great great nephews and nieces.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers you make a donation to your favorite charity in her name
