Natalie P. Bergamo, 92, of Montclair, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on
September 16, 2024, surrounded by her family.
Born May 24, 1932, in Orange, NJ, she was the first of two children of Edward and Rose Williamson. Natalie graduated from Orange Memorial High School. She had various jobs, including clerk and
operator at Prudential IBM, secretary typist, caregiver, and devoted many hours to
volunteering at St. Vincent's Hospital in Montclair NJ. A loving mother, Natalie
raised two children, Donna Rose and Michael Angelo. At age 24, she moved to Italy
with her husband, Angelo Bergamo and resided in Piazza Bologna, Rome. There she
had various jobs including, English language teacher, secretary at the Benedictine
of Notre Dame, working various roles with the monks who cherished her dearly.
After returning from Italy, she resided in Newark, Irvington, Old Alexandria Virginia,
Maplewood, and settled in Montclair NJ in the late1960's. The bulk of her career was
with Macy's at Willowbrook Mall in Wayne NJ. People were known to go just to visit
Natalie and see her smile. Over her twenty-six years she had various positions
which included mentoring the new hires, but her favorite was jewelry and selling
Swatches. She retired at 80 and spent the later years celebrating life with her
children, grandchildren, her companion, Raymond Tomo, and his family. She was an
extended Mother to many, especially Larry Fletcher, Carl Zimmermann, Mark
Ciccone, Greg Kelly, Richard Romaniello, and many more to count.
Natalie was a class act; known for her sense of style and grace. One of the most
beautiful people inside and out. Her contagious smile, laughter, and positivity
always lit up the room. She was and will always be remembered as a joyful force of
nature.
Natalie is survived by her daughter, Donna Quinn, and her husband Robert; their
two children, Robert [Bobby] Quinn, and Caroline Quinn, and her son, Michael
Bergamo, and his wife, Roberta [Robbie] Bergamo and their two daughters, Natalie
and Grace Bergamo. Natalie was also surrounded by her cousin Carmine Patuto
who was always present and contributed to her care.
Natalie was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Rose Williamson, sister Joann
Levier, partner Raymond Tomo, and ex-husband Angelo Bergamo.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at the St. Cassian Church, 187 Bellevue
Avenue, Upper Montclair, NJ on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 10:00am, interment at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union. Viewing Friday from 4-8pm at Caggiano Memorial, 62 Grove St, Montclair.
