Patrick J. Pignatello, Jr., 77, a lifelong Glen Ridge resident , passed away Sunday, December 15th,2013 at his home. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday December 20, 10am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Montclair, interment at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Bloomfield. Pat started working for his grandfathers business, Pignatello Construction, at the age of 7, owned the business for 45 years, before retiring 5 years ago. He was a member of the Glen Ridge Kiwanis Club, the Glen Ridge Historical Society, bowled in several leagues, pitched in the Glen Ridge Men's Softball League before retiring a year ago.
Pat was known in the community as "Mr. Glen Ridge" a name awarded to him by the town council for his dedication to the town. You could always find him picking up garbage, fixing sidewalks, doing snow removal or maintaining the Freeman Gardens, all volunteer work for the town he loved.

Mr. Pignatello is predeceased by his son Patrick Pignatello III, and is survived by his wife Mariann (nee LaPlaca), his daughter, Donna Roe and her husband Gary, his son Lenny Pignatello and his wife Maria, his grandchildren, Jamie Rose, Danielle, Nicholas, Christopher, his sisters, Mary Ann LaStella and Dolores Pierce.
