Ralph Anthony Scognamillo, 76, of Glen Ridge, NJ, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2026. Born on April 15, 1950, in Newark, NJ, to the late Vincenzo "Jim" Scognamillo and Maria Angela "Angie" Scognamillo (née Guariglia), Ralph spent his early years in Newark before settling in Glen Ridge, where he and his wife Judy raised their family.

Since 1985, Ralph was the owner and operator of J&R Towne Getty in Nutley, NJ, where he built a reputation as someone people could always depend on. He took pride in helping others, and that same generous spirit carried into every part of his life.

Above all, Ralph's greatest joy was his grandchildren. Whether he was watching Colin play basketball and tennis, cheering on Rylie in soccer and lacrosse, or supporting CJ on the football field and lacrosse field, there was nowhere he'd rather be than in the stands, watching them grow.

Ralph is survived by his wife, Judy (Dianella) Scognamillo; his son, Scott Scognamillo, and his wife Jenny, and their son CJ; his daughter, Candee (Scognamillo) McAloon, and her husband Kevin, and their children Colin and Rylie; his sister, Carmela (Scognamillo) Guarneri, and her husband Frank; and many other extended family members and friends who will hold him dearly in their memories.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 10, at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Little Flower in Berkeley Heights, NJ. Flowers may be sent in his memory.
