ebecca Coulter McAusland, 37, passed away on October 23, 2024, in their apartment in New York City.
Rebecca, or Coulter as their friends called them, was born on March 10, 1987, to John and Doris McAusland in Montclair, New Jersey.
While growing up in Montclair, Coulter found many passions and interests, but none more pressing than theater, design, and production. After graduating from Montclair High School, they went on to receive a degree in Set Design and Technical Direction from Carnegie Mellon University. For more than a decade, Coulter worked in television and film and holds an Emmy for Outstanding Production Design for their work on the series, VEEP.
Coulter can be described as someone with a kind, goofy, and no nonsense spirit. Many remember them for their generous nature, witty humor. Often helping those around them and offering support where they could.
There few problems to big for Coulter. They were ready to jump in at any time, loving their friends fiercely, and always ready to take care of their cats.
Rebecca is predeceased by her mother, Doris McAusland and her aunt, Janet Friend. She is survived by her father, John McAusland, aunt Joan Peidl and cousins Dan Friend and David McAusland and a host of friends who will miss them terribly.
