Richard V. Del Vecchio Sr, 93, died peacefully on June 22, 2018, surrounded by his family.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30am on Monday June 25th at St. Anthony's Church in Belleville, entombment at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Upper Montclair. Visiting hours will be on Sunday June24th from 1-4pm at Caggiano Memorial, 62 Grove St, Montclair. Caggianomemorial.com

Richard was born in Newark, NJ, and lived most of his life in Silver Lake section of Belleville NJ. He worked at Liberty Optical Manufacturing Company Newark, NJ for 46 years.

Richard was predeceased by his wife of 64 years Jenny Nee Della Volpe and granddaughter Melissa Anne Del Vecchio. Also predeceased by his father Pasquale Del Vecchio, Mother Angela Nee Di Ruggero, brothers Vito, Nicholas and Silvio, Sisters Melinda and Josephine.

He is survived by his son Richard Jr and his wife Deborah, his son Ronald Del Vecchio, his grandson Richard III and his granddaughter Jessica and husband John Schomaker, and many nieces and nephews.

He was a horse racing enthusiast. Loved watching his grandchildren play sports and enjoyed watching his granddaughter coach basketball.
