Robert J Salvatore

Robert J Salvatore , 1937-2026, 89, Formerly of Newark , but residing in Toms River, Passed away peacefully on August 24,2026. Known by many Nicknames, Bob, Bobby, Pop, Pop-Pop, Uncle Bob, Il Duce, Borgata Bob,  But Dad was an Amazing man. He was predeceased by His Parents, Vito and Margaret, His Brothers, Donald and William, His Daughter, Patti Ann, and His Beloved wife Patricia. Dad Grew up in Newark where He became a District Leader in Essex County with my Mom, was a member of the Lions Club, Former Governor of the Belleville Optimists Club, Board Member for Selective Service, and was involved in multiple charitable causes, Most Importantly , United Cerebral Palsy, in honor of His Daughter , Patti Ann.

He was a tough Man, but had a heart of Gold, He would do anything He could for you, If he liked You. If He didn't You knew that too. I don't have to explain how He was, Friends and Family alike know. He loved us all in His own way, Helped Us all, in His own way. Always Handing out money for Gas, With "The Handshake" , Everyone knows what that is. He knew and was friends with Governors, Senators, Freeholders, Local Politicians He would see and have dinner with. He helped build "The Bubble" when He worked at Seton Hall University, The New 9/11 Building when He worked for City of Newark, and many other accomplishments .

One of His favorite things to do, was sit in His Garage, Talk to the Neighbors, and have a Cigar, Nothing was better...except one thing. Seeing His Grandkids, and Great-Granddaughter. He loved spending time with Family and Friends, and of Course , Atlantic City.

Dad passed away peacefully with Family by His side, watching the Yankees . He wanted to go out His way, and He did, No machines, tubes, Diets, Just comfortable and with dignity.

He is Survived by His Son, Robert V and Daughter-in-Law Denise, Three Grandchildren, Eva-Ann, Robert Jr and Drs. Jessica and Son-in-Law Nick Torres. and Great Granddaughter, Gabriella, along with Many Nieces and Nephews .
