Obituary

Rosa DeSomma (nee Santulli), of Montclair, passed away on Tuesday October 6th, 2020. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10am on Thursday October 16th at Immaculate Conception Church, entombment at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Upper Montclair. Visiting hours Wednesday from 4-8pm at Caggiano Memorial, 62 Grove St, Montlair

Rosa was born in Monteforte, Italy and came to Montclair in 1956. She was the owner of Napoli Pizzeria in Bloomfield until she retired in 1986. She is survived by her children Jerry and his wife Barbara, Anthony and his wife Cielo, Benny and his wife Kelly, her grandchildren Jerry, John, Michael, Rosamaria, Sophia, Nicholas and Vincent and by her sister Carmela Fusco and by her brothers Martino, Mario, and Carmine Santulli.
She was predeceased by her husband Gerardo in 2007

Alfred Lumpkin Sr., departed this life on Wednesday, October 7, 2020, after a long battle with illness. Alfred was born February 10, 1942, in Montclair, New Jersey to the Late Ella Mae Lumpkin and Alfred Walton. Alfred graduated from Kearny High Schoolin 1960.After graduation he began a career as a long road truck driver until his retirement in 1996. Alfred was a man of strength and service. He served his community by sharing his passion for sports, especially football, withthe youth ofthe community.As athirty yeartwo-time champion, town league football coach he instilled the principles of hard work, dedication, and cooperation into all who had the opportunity to play under his leadership. Alfred was also a loyal fan and avid watcher of the NY Giants. Alfred also had a large family, all of whom will continue to keep him alive in their treasured memories. Alfred is survived by his siblings,WillaM.LumpkinJackson,CynthiaHayesSanders(Robert), Lori Carter Davis, Joyce Carter, Ronald Lumpkin, James Hayes, Tyrone Hayes (Rozelyn), William Hayes (Rosalind), and Frank Carter, his children, Keith Sr. (Lorna), Kenneth Sr. (Catherine), Gary, Earl, Cheryl, Alfred Jr., and Isaiah, nine grandchildren, one great granddaughter, and host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Alfred was also preceded in death by his daughter, Karla.
