Rose Ferrucci, age 94 of Montclair, NJ passed away peacefully at home on October 27, 2023. Rose's parents, Vincenzo and Pasqualena (Grandone) Ferrucci emigrated from Bari, Italy to Montclair in 1913. Vincenzo worked 3 jobs while Pasqualena cared for Rose and her five siblings, Nick, Pat, Alfred, Grace and Connie Ferrucci, who have since passed. Rose was blessed to be part of the Ferrucci family where service to others was of the utmost importance. Rose continued that service of devotion to her own family. Rose sacrificed much as a single mom where she dedicated her life to raising her children Jim and Linda, who are forever grateful for her love, generosity, and faithfulness to them and to her grandchildren. Although funds were always tight, there was always food on the table, a roof over their heads, and summers spent at a private swim club in N. Caldwell, which mom made sure was part of the budget to ensure her children had fun. Rose was an excellent Italian cook and loved going through her recipe books. Her specialty was homemade manicotti and fresh-baked cookies, which were always on the Christmas menu.



Rose first started working at John Hancock Insurance in Nutley, then went to Prudential in Newark, and finally to the Hall of Records in Newark where she worked as a clerk and then a court recorder for various Juvenile Division Judges.



Rose leaves behind her son Jim La Manna (married to Odette), her daughter Linda Restivo (married to Guy), her 4 grandchildren Jason La Manna, Kali Monte (married to Anthony), Laura La Manna (married to Brad Nicholas), Jeffrey La Manna, and her faithful caregiver Marit Stoemer, whose devoted, invaluable service of 8 years has been a God-send.



A viewing will be on Sat. Nov. 4, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with a short service at 11 a.m., both to be held at Caggiano Memorial Home 62 Grove St., Montclair, NJ 07042, followed by burial at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, 712 Grove St., Upper Montclair, NJ 07043. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
