Born in Cerami, Sicily, Rosina Proto Ficarra immigrated with her family to the United States 53 years ago in 1969. Rosina enjoyed spending her time with her family at home in Glen Ridge, NJ. Rosina also enjoyed cooking and baking with her family. Rosina was a devout Catholic that attended Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Montclair, NJ and watched mass daily. There was nothing she wouldn't do to make her family happy.


Rosina Proto Ficarra was predeceased by her husband of 32 years, Eduardo Ficarra in 1990, and her son, Gaetano "Tommy" Ficarra in 2019. She is survived by her daughter, Giovanna "JoAnne" Ficarrra, her son, Luigi "Louie" Ficarra and his son, Edward Ficarra, her daughter, Angela Socio and her children, Gabriella Socio, Raffaella Socio, and Anthony Socio, her daughter-in-law Rosemary Ficarra and her children, Anthony Ficarra, Andrea Magliano and her husband, Greg Magliano, and Thomas Ficarra and his fiancée, Kelly Gilhooley, and her great-granddaughter, Eleanor Magliano, among many other extended family members. Back home in Cerami, Sicily, Rosina was loved dearly by her numerous nieces and nephews.
