Vincent J. DiPrenda, a lifelong Montclair resident, passed away on May 12, 2024, at the age of 91. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 17th, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Montclair, with entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Visiting hours are on Thursday from 4-8pm at Caggiano Memorial, 62 Grove St., Montclair.

Vincent, known for his love of the Boston Red Sox, served as a captain at the Montclair Fire Department and later worked at the Pit Stop Auto Lube in Montclair for many years after retirement.

He is survived by his children, Vincent DiPrenda Jr. and LouAnn DiPrenda, his grandchildren John, Lauren, and Brian, Brian's wife Efthemia, his great-grandchildren Nicolas and Anthony, and his sister-in-law Minnie DiPrenda.

He was predeceased by his wife Anna in 2010 and by his siblings Mary D'Iorio, Lucy Cianci, Gertrude Zazzaro, Philomena Pignatello, Josephine Corrado, Julia Spagnuolo, Sarah Yacullo, Gerri Passero, Danny, Angelo, Vito, Salvatore, and Michael DiPrenda.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to stjude.org (St. Jude's Children's Hospital) would be appreciated.
