William (Bill) Donnelly passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family on Sunday October 13, 2024 at the age of 70.



Born in Glen Ridge, NJ and raised in Clifton, NJ, Bill attended Paul VI High School and received a B.S. in Accounting from Montclair State University and an MBA in Finance from Rutgers University.



Bill began his career in public accounting at KPMG. He later moved on to the education and non-profit sectors serving as the Director of Finance for Columbia University Business School and the Chief Finance Officer at Grace Communications in New York City. Following his retirement in 2013, Bill spent many years volunteering doing tax work for the AARP and at Mountainside Hospital in Montclair, NJ.



Bill had a full and wonderful life and loved his wife and daughters. He loved coaching his daughters' softball teams, going on family ski trips, traveling with friends, and volunteering.



Bill is survived by his wife Tara Fitzpatrick Donnelly; daughter Sara Donnelly Galligan, son-in-law Timothy Galligan; daughter Ann Donnelly Landrove, son-in-law George Landrove; and grandchildren Sophia, Caroline, Will, Colin and Shea. Bill is also survived by a loving group of close friends.



Calling hours will be held on Thursday October 17 from 4-8pm at Caggiano Memorial Home, 62 Grove Street in Montclair, NJ. A Mass of Catholic Burial will be held on Friday October 18 at 11am at St. Cassian Catholic Church, 187 Bellevue Avenue in Montclair, NJ.
